QNAP Launches the TL-R6020Sep-RP 4U 60-Bay High-Density SAS/SATA JBOD

Achieve single-unit petabyte-scale capacity with lower space and energy costs, ideal for surveillance, big data, and long-term archiving
The TL-R6020Sep-RP SAS/SATA storage expansion enclosure in a 60-bay, 4U high-density chassis is the ideal petabyte-level storage expansion solution for QNAP NAS. It provides four high-speed Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8644) ports, supporting SAS 12Gbps transmission interfaces and Broadcom® SAS DataBolt™ bandwidth optimization technology. Its Mini-SAS dual-path redundancy design ensures system operation even if one expansion unit cable fails. Supporting daisy-chaining of up to four units, it’s ideal for cold storage applications such as surveillance video archiving, big data storage, and multimedia image storage.

Key Features of the TL-R6020Sep-RP

  • High-density efficiency: Significantly reduces rack space usage, weight, and power consumption, while meeting long-term and large-scale expansion needs.
  • Petabyte-scale capacity: Up to 60 x SAS/SATA HDDs in a single 4U chassis, supporting over 1PB** effective capacity.
  • Flexible scalability: Daisy-chain up to four* units with multipath redundancy for 4PB** of raw capacity.
  • Broadcom® SAS DataBolt™ optimization: Aggregates dual 6Gb/s signals into a 12Gb/s stream for faster data throughput.
  • Easy maintenance: Supports hot-swappable fans and power supplies, optimized for 1000mm-deep racks with built-in rail kits. Front-panel indicators display the status of 60 drives, combined with swappable drive trays and six cooling fans. With a chassis depth of only 750mm, it is easier to deploy and maintain.
  • Seamless integration and data protection: Manage JBOD and all drives via QNAP NAS Storage & Snapshots Manager, supporting QuTS hero h5.2.0 or later. Combined with ZFS, it offers real-time compression, deduplication, and self-healing mechanisms to ensure the integrity and reliability of PB-scale storage.
